Hummingbird Digital Media, also doing business as My Must Reads, and our technology partner Trellisys.net Private Limited doing business as Papertrell, (collectively referred to as “HDM” “we” or “us”) respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how, when, and why HDM collects, uses, and shares information from or about you (the “User” or “you”).

Terms used: Our digital media services, including the selection of e-books, audiobooks, podcasts, videos, and other content we offer is collectively referred to as the “Content.”  Our App(s) for viewing or listening to the Content are collectively called the “App.” The Content and the App, as well as any other products or services offered from time to time by HDM are referred to collectively as the “HDM Services.” The term “Distribution Points” refers to, collectively, the HDM websites, HDM’s third-party distribution partners, and other websites or storefronts where website operators are permitted to offer HDM Content for sale or use. The Content, the App, HDM Services, and Distribution Points are collectively referred to as the “HDM Platform.”

Your Consent: By viewing or listening to any Content or otherwise using the HDM Services, whether you are a registered User or a visitor who has not registered for the HDM Services, you consent to the collection and use of information from or about you as explained in this Privacy Policy. If you do not consent to the collection and use of information from or about you in accordance with this Privacy Policy, then you may not use the HDM Services.

Information we collect: When you register to use the HDM Services, we collect your name and email address. By submitting your email address, you understand that you may be receiving email communications from the Distribution Point you entered it into and, when you download an e-book or an audiobook offered without charge by one of HDM’s vendors, you may receive emails from that vendor. (For example, if you were at a bookstore’s e-book/audiobook storefront when you entered your e-mail as part of your registration, you may receive emails from that bookstore.) When you initiate a transaction, we also collect your credit card information, which includes your billing address and zip code. HDM uses a third party payment processor to securely store this information. We also collect information when you use the HDM Services. This information may include your IP address, the device (i.e. an iPad) and software you use (i.e. your device’s operating system), geographical location, title selections, page views, ad views, and similar information. This information may be shared with the Distribution Point and, when you download an e-book or an audiobook offered without charge by one of HDM’s vendors, with that vendor. HDM prohibits registration by anyone under 13 years of age and does not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from anyone under 13 years of age.

Information you voluntarily provide: Other information may be collected by us if you respond to surveys, contact us through customer service, or supply us with information in similar ways. Personally identifiable information you voluntarily display on the HDM Platform–such as when you review an e-book or comment on an e-book becomes publicly available and may be used by HDM and others without restriction.

Our use of the information: HDM does not share your personally identifiable information with other organizations for their marketing or promotional uses without your prior express consent, except that we supply your e-mail address, information about your choices of content, dates of activity, and similar information to the Distribution Point(s) at which you access the HDM Services.

HDM may disclose aggregated or other types of non-personally identifiable information to third parties such as, but not limited to, publishers and advertisers, for various purposes. This aggregated information may assist them in understanding contextual, geographical, and demographic usage patterns for promotional and marketing uses.

Our use of payment information: We use payment information, such as your credit card number and billing address to process payments, to collect and remit taxes, to retrieve account information for a subsequent transaction with the same User, and to detect abuse of the HDM Services. Credit card information is stored by a third party payment processor not by HDM.

Other disclosures: From time to time we may disclose User information to affiliated companies or other businesses or persons to provide maintenance, security services, fulfillment of orders, data analysis, the creation of reports, and/or to assist HDM to improve or expand the HDM Platform. We require these parties to process any information we provide them in compliance with this Privacy Policy and we require these parties to use reasonable confidentiality measures. In the event that HDM is acquired by or merged with a third party entity or if we sell selected assets to a third party entity, we reserve the right to transfer or assign the information we have collected from Users as part of that merger, acquisition, or sale. HDM may disclose User information to the appropriate authority if required to by law, court order, government subpoena, or similar warrant.

Changes to this Privacy Policy: We may periodically revise this Privacy Policy without further notice to you. Please check this page to stay aware of any changes. Your continued use of any part of the HDM Platform constitutes your agreement to this Privacy Policy and future revisions to it. The date below reflects the last time we modified these policies.
